Vital Health Primary Care started with a simple belief: people in small towns deserve the same quality of care as everybody else, from someone who has the time to listen.
"I didn't start Vital Health to be the biggest clinic. I started it because I believed people deserve better. Healthcare should never make somebody feel dismissed, unheard, or like just another number. Putting the personal back into primary care is the standard we hold ourselves to every single day."
Why we're here
Serena Wilson spent years working inside corporate medicine, in primary care, urgent care, the emergency room, and pain management. She watched good providers get handed schedules that left no room for the actual patient in the room, and she got tired of apologizing for a system she didn’t build.
So she left and opened Vital Health.
The idea was never to be the biggest clinic in the county. It was to be the one where you feel welcome, where somebody remembers your kids’ names, where the cost of a visit doesn’t come as a surprise, and where nobody makes you feel like a problem for showing up. Rural Oklahoma has real gaps in access to care. We can’t fix all of them, but we can take good care of our corner of it.
Today Vital Health sees patients in Miami and Grove, from newborns through their first day of school and all the way through retirement. The staff at Vital Health has over 100 years of combined clinical experience. We’re still locally owned, still independent, and still making every decision under this roof.

Serena is a family nurse practitioner, a Navy veteran, and the reason Vital Health exists. She’s practiced in primary care, urgent care, the emergency room, and pain management, which means very little walks through the door that she hasn’t seen before. She treats patients of every age and has a particular passion for hormone health, weight management, and making care affordable for families who’ve been priced out of it.
